29th SAO PAULO BIENNIAL 2010
Macarena Cordiviola was invited by the Uruguayan artist Angela López Ruiz to participate in her Project La imagen en llamas (Image on fire) presented at one of the Terreiros during the 29th Sao Paulo Biennial. During the performance the Uruguayan artist talked about Archeology of the Image. Found footage, family archives and general heritage in 16 mm and S8mm were screened. The film performance was carried out by Guillermo Zabaleta, Bill Brand, Carolina Nóblega and Macarena Cordiviola

Eterno Devenir in FASE2 – Recoleta Cultural Center

FAC Montevideo – Contemporary Art Foundation- invited Macarena Cordiviola to participate in its 16 mm Experimental Cinema Lab and produce a short film.
The Foundation has a 16 mm Lab called “One minute film” run by Guillermo Zabaleta. Several members of the Film Museum Pablo Ducrós Hicken from Buenos Aires (Paula Félix Didier -director- and Carolina Cappa among others) and Macarena Cordiviola were invited to shoot a 16 mm short film. Each participant presented a 3 minute project. On the occasion, Macarena filmed Acecinar.

Montevideo Contemporary Art Foundation presented Últimos Brillos (Last Shine) by Macarena Cordiviola and other short films in the Colectiff Jeune Cinema.
Montevideo Contemporary Art Foundation presented several young filmmakers working with S8mm, 16mm and other film formats, among them Macarena Cordiviola from Argentina. The Latin America programme included highly experienced artists such as Narcisa Hirsh.

VIBA Festival starts November 22nd 2009 with the pre-selection of videos, among them Últimos Brillos (Last Shine) by Macarena Cordiviola, presented at IV Cultura y Media inSan Martin Cultural Centre. The festival will be held November 27 to 29 (20:30 to 23:30 hs) at Thinag – Cabrera 584, Buenos Aires.

La Pantalla Pintada (The Painted Screen)
International Experimental Cinema and Videoart Festival
La Pantalla Pintada is an international experimental cinema and videoart festival curated by Macarena Cordiviola. The exhibition has five sections to be screened in two days of 2 hours each: Wednesday November 11th and 18th. Espacio Cultural Carlos Gardel - Olleros 3640, Buenos Aires.
Twenty-three films by twenty-one national and international artists belonging to different generations will be screened. Among the artists we can name Narcisa Hirsh (Argentina), Claudio Caldini (Argentina), Paulo Pécora (Argentina), Lynne Sachs (USA), Ángela López Ruiz (Uruguay). These filmmakers represent a wide range of aesthetics and languages from the history of experimental cinema and videoart.

Montevideo FAC -Contemporary Art Foundation- invited Macarena Cordiviola to give a seminar on Experimental Cinema and to participate in the 16mm Lab.
The Foundation has a 16 mm Lab called “One minute film” run by Guillermo Zabaleta. The Lab also carries out a Foundfootage seminar dictated by Pablo Marín as well as one on Production Strategies dictated by Macarena Cordiviola. A collective exhibition will take place with the works of participants and guest artists at Engelman Ost Foundation, Montevideo.

Equivale a Mentir (It equals to lie) participates in the exhibition Ventana al Sur, Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archives
Ventana al Sur is a programme on Argentine Experimental Cinema organized by Lynne Sachs and Mark Street. Lynne Sachs and Mark Street are experimental artists and professors at New York University. The success of the programme, originally created for the New York Anthology Film Archives, made the Pacific Film Archive to show it in California as well. Some of the artists participating in the exhibit are Narcisa Hirsh, Pablo Marín, Sergio Subero and Macarena Cordiviola with Equivale a Mentir.

Último brillos (Last Shine) participes in Parkour Cinema organized by The International Experimental Film Festival TIE and Museo de Arte Latinoamericano de Buenos Aires MALBA
Macarena Cordiviola specially produced Últimos brillos - Viñetas del Transiberiano y la pequeña Jeanne de Francia in Super 8 mm for Parkour Cinema curated by Chris May at MALBA. Chris is the founder of The International Experimental Cinema Festival in Denver, Colorado, USA. This organization encourages artists to use celluloid for making movies.
